Welcome to the Rapid City Area School District!
Robust in talented educators, administrators, and support staff; our district prides itself in providing the highest quality education to each student. RCAS is comprised of 15 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 3 high schools, and employs approximately 1,680 amazing staff members. We promote student centered interactive instruction through quality staff development offerings from building-based opportunity to innovative graduate courses. We are proud of the work we do and believe there is no job too small to make a big difference.
Health Insurance – As a Rapid City Area School District employee you have the opportunity to participate in a package of medical, prescription, dental and life insurance benefits offered to you at a premium cost. RCAS offers you a PPO medical plan. With the PPO, you may select where you receive your medical services.. Preventive Care performed by PPO providers is covered at no cost to you. For routine care, Rapid City Area School District’s plan now includes copays for Primary Care, Specialist and Urgent Care office visits when services are performed by a PPO provider.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) – FSA’s allow you to save money on your healthcare and/or dependent daycare expenses. You set aside funds each pay period on a pretax basis and use them tax-free for qualified expenses. You pay no federal income or Social Security taxes on your contributions to an FSA. (That’s where the savings come in!)
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – The Employee Assistance Program is available to all District employees at no cost!
