It Takes a Village – Be a Substitute
We want you! Come join Rapid City Area Schools in preparing our students for a successful future. |
Why Sub?
Inspire a student. Provide mentorship and guidance to a young person. No matter what you teach, you will always learn something new yourself.
But I’m not a teacher
You don’t need to be a certified teacher to sub – we always welcome them though! To keep our district running top-notch we need substitutes for a variety of different positions. Food service, bus drivers, security guards, playground supervisors, secretaries, paraprofessionals, and of course teachers to name just a few. Each role is vital to our school district!
What’s in it for me?
Our pay scale depends on your level of education and the job you are subbing for.
Eligibility includes a minimum of a high school diploma/GED for hourly positions and minimum of 48 credit hours of college for teacher positions and of course an favorable background check. Additionally, you will need to provide two letters of recommendation. Don’t worry, we will assist you with hammering out all of the details to get you started!
Along with pay is flexibility. We use Absence Management that allows you to customize your schedule in advance. Skip the early morning phone call.
