If you believe you qualify for free & reduced-priced meals, you must complete a new application every year. Online apps are available via Family Access and paper apps can be returned to our office via mail, in-person or drop box by our door. It takes approximately 10 days for our office to process applications and you will receive a yellow letter in the mail stating eligible benefits. If you need assistance, please contact us. School lunch is provided to every RCAS student who wants one whether there is money or not in his or her account. No alternate meals are provided for students carrying negative balances. The Fed & Ready to Learn program raises funds to pay off negative meal account balances. This program is managed through the Black Hills Area Community Foundation and supported by the Rapid City Public School Foundation. Your donation continues to support RCAS Student Nutrition in their efforts to serve lunch to all students, which improves attendance, academic performance, behavior, and students’ lives.
