Mapping Out Your Future


Preparing for college and your career is about more than the classes that you take. It’s also about developing the skills that will help you succeed in college, career, and life. Below are some suggested activities and benchmarks that will keep you on track on your journey through high school and ready for success after graduation.

  • Continue to meet with your school counselor to make sure you are on track to graduate. Find your school counselor here
  • Take the ACT and/or SAT again if needed
  • Consider taking Advanced Placement and/or Dual Credit Classes


  • Ask for Letters of Recommendation early in the school year (September)
  • Apply for admissions to your colleges of choice (October-November)
  • Participate in College Application Month (November)
  • Complete the FAFSA (October-November)
