Jessie Taken Alive – Rencountre teaches a program called JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) at Rapid City High School.  Jessie worked for 8 years as a school counselor and was influenced to write her first children’s book after hearing many of the hurtful situations elementary children would share with her. The story is for all ages and teaches compassion and forgiveness. It reminds us of the ability that we all have to change the world.

Jessie’s story won her the title of being named the 2017 Great Plains Emerging Tribal Writer’s Award. We are proud of you, Jesse!
