Refunds & Transfers

Account Balances Carry Over: Student Nutrition account balances automatically carry over from school year to school year.

Refunds: If your student is graduating or moving, you can request a refund of the remaining balance in their account.

Balance Transfers: You can also request to transfer the balance to another student.

Negative Balances

Households are responsible for keeping a positive balance in their student’s lunch account.

If you are unable to pay your negative balance in full, you can set up payment arrangements. Please reach out to our office.

RCAS ensures every student receives a school lunch, regardless of account balance. However, alternate meals are not provided for students with negative balances. The Fed & Ready to Learn program helps cover these deficits, managed by the Black Hills Area Community Foundation and supported by the Rapid City Public School Foundation.

Your donation helps students succeed by improving attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Thank you for your support!
